We understand that not all fitness goals are made equally, and that there are many groups in search of targeted training and programming to meet their specific needs.  To that end, the Family Y offers the following programs to meet the needs of our diverse communities.

Participants will train with battle ropes, kettlebells, tires, barbells, dumbbells, TRX, and even their own body weight. Please note: racing at the event is not a requirement of the program.

Spring Running Club

Train to compete in your first (or next) road race up to 5K. Programs are designed by Certified Running Coaches and are guaranteed to get you results, no matter your fitness level! Goal race: Lightfoot 3-miler, June 17, Norwalk, CT.

Race 4 Chase Youth Triathlon Program

The Race 4 Chase program is a youth triathlon program focused on providing kids ages 6 through 12 with a safe, healthy, non-competitive environment to discover the sport of triathlon. It brings together kids from all different backgrounds and educates them on how to adopt a healthy lifestyle, coaches them to develop a foundation of athletic skills, and inspires them to aim high in sports and in life. Through our collaboration with the Greater Waterbury YMCA and the Chase Michael Anthony Kowalski Foundation, the Westport Weston Family YMCA is proud to have been selected to offer this wonderful program in 2016 and again in 2017 to honor the life of Chase Michael Anthony Kowalski. Chase was a first-grader who lost his life at the Sandy Hook tragedy of 2012 and loved the sport of triathlon, winning the first youth triathlon he ever attempted.  Last year, 20 kids completed our inaugural season and most went to compete at the YMCA Camp Sloper race on August 6, 2016, along with young athletes from 13 other YMCA’s!

We’ve partnered with Field Goods to offer a produce delivery service to Y members and the Westport/Weston community!  Field Goods is a one-of-a-kind subscription-based business that delivers freshly-harvested local fruit and vegetables to employees and consumers at workplaces and community locations.

Field Goods subscribers receive 5 to 8 different types of fruits and vegetables each week, sourced from over 80 small farms – the majority of which are located in the Hudson Valley.  Weekly add-on options include local artisan bread, fresh pasta, local cheese, extra fruit, and more.  A weekly e-newsletter, In the Bag, provides tips and recipes as a helpful guide for preparing the produce.  Customers sign up online at, and can put their account on hold and restart at any time.

Research attests to Field Goods’ healthy results.  The Sage Colleges Nutrition Science Department’s 2014 research study reveals a direct correlation between Field Goods and healthier diets, increased satisfaction with eating habits, and saving time and money on grocery shopping.

Weekly or bi-weekly produce subscriptions cost $15, $20, $25, and $30, plus an additional $2 fundraiser to support the YMCA’s Chronic Disease Management & Prevention programs. To sign up, go to, click Order Now, search Public Locations for Westport and then follow prompts! Questions?
