Seniors gathering on Fridays

The Westport Weston Family YMCA enriches the community by developing and nurturing youth, promoting healthy living for all and fostering social responsibility.

Many organizations provide similar services as a YMCA. What differentiates the Y from others is that our purpose is to strengthen the foundations of community in all our actions. Our aim is to address the societal issues affecting our community and provide programs and opportunities for people to come together to improve, solve, or overcome those issues. We accomplish this aim by:
  • Teaching our kids to be safe and confident in and around bodies of water. We are the largest provider of youth swim lessons in our community.
  • Offering pool space to groups that have limited access to water instruction through our relationship with Greens Farms Academy and the Camp Horizons program.
  • Extending free memberships to users of various service organizations including the Gillespie Center, Homes With Hope, Westport Human Services, Weston Social Services & Project Return as well as families of active-duty servicemen and women.
  • Providing evidence-based healthy living programs through partnerships with the Westport Weston Health District, YMCA of the USA, Norwalk Hospital, the Riverbrook Regional YMCA & the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA. Many of these programs are offered at no cost to the participants. These programs include Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring, A Matter of Balance fall prevention, REGENERATE Cancer Survivor Exercise, and Diabetes Prevention.
These are a few of the ways that our YMCA connects with the greater community to make a real impact on people's lives.
