Pat Riemersma, Chief Executive Officer
A resident of Southport, Pat is a 31-year veteran of the YMCA Movement, and has served at the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities since 2011. As Vice President of Youth Development since 2013, she has provided leadership of the Twin Cities’ Early Learning and Child Care programs, which serve 5,900 children daily. She also supervised a team of 10 program directors of the association’s day camp programs, which served 23,400 youth in 2014. Previously held positions include Program and Executive Director roles within the YMCA of Greater Hartford, from 1989 to 1994. An Iowa native and graduate of Central College in Pella, Iowa, Riemersma began her YMCA career in 1984 as a Program Director at the Siouxland YMCA.
Shin R. Miyoshi, Chief Financial Officer
Shin has been with the Family YMCA since 2005. He is a 30-year veteran of the not-for-profit sector, a Certified Public Accountant, and most recently served as a Vice President of Finance for a major international not-for-profit organization. Shin leads the Finance Department which includes Accounting, Information Technology and Human Resources. Shin is an avid cyclist and volunteer, serving as Treasurer of Northeast Community Cycles as well as a Rides Director of the Sound Cyclist Bicycle Club. In fine weather, he enjoys commuting to work on his bicycle.
Danielle LeBrando, Chief Development Officer
Danielle joined the Family YMCA in June 2016. She has more than a decade of not-for-profit experience, having previously held positions at the YWCA Greenwich as the Director of Advancement and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as the Director of the Light The Night Walks in the State of Connecticut. At Pace University, Danielle earned a Bachelors in Business Administration and was involved in many fundraising efforts. Danielle is excited to work at the Family YMCA and is looking forward to advancing its mission within the community.
Alexei Bachuretz, Director, Health & Wellness
Alexei joined the Family YMCA team in April 2014. His YMCA career began 7 years ago at the Greater Waterbury YMCA where he worked as one of two Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialists. Alexei worked closely with members to enhance athletic potential, improve functionality, and live healthier, happier lives through exercise. Most recently, he joins us from the Northwestern CT YMCA as the former Wellness & Aquatics Director. In his free time, Alexei competes across the state as a triathlete and Masters swimmer.
Jeff Bonaccorso, Director, Aquatics
Jeff joined the Family YMCA in February 2016 after spending the first 8 years of his career at the Regional YMCA of Western CT in the Brookfield branch. He has experience as a swim instructor, a lifeguard, and as a swim coach with the Makos in Brookfield and the Girls High School Swim & Dive team at Ridgefield High School. Jeff graduated from Newtown High School and studied Secondary Education at Western Connecticut State University.
Pat Costanzo, Director, Property and Facilities
Pat has worked at the Family YMCA since 1998. He has been in the construction trade for 24 years and holds an E1 Master Electricians License, as well as Being a Certified Pool Operator. He stays current by attending many seminars in the American Management Association and currently belongs to the YMCA Property Management Network Association. In addition he is active in the YMCA of the USA Property Development Program. Pat enjoys spending time with his two boys, working out, martial arts and reading.
Lillian Cenatiempo, Director, Dance Center
Lillian earned a Dance Certificate from Naugatuck Valley Community College in 2007. Lillian is a native of Connecticut and began her training locally where she participated in numerous regional and national dance competitions. She continued her studies in NYC at Broadway Dance Center concentrating on Jazz, Hip Hop, and Tap with Chris Hale, Jim Clark, Frank Hatchett, Fernando, Bette Morrow, Leslie Feliciano and Rodney Moore. Lillian has performed and choreographed in productions of 42nd Street, Damn Yankees, Annie and Annie Get Your Gun to name a few and was a member of the Terpsichorean Dance Ensemble at NVCC. Lillian is entering her eighth year with the Family Y Dance Center, and her fourth as director.
Rose DeLuca, Director, Information and Technology
Rose has worked at the Family YMCA since 2001. She previously held the positions of fundraising manager as well as Director of Database Management. She received her B.S. degree from the University of Houston and a Master’s degree from New York University in Finance and Information Technology. A resident of Westport since 1999, Rose is active in local community affairs and enjoys fitness activities and spending time with her family.
Meaghan George, Director, Camp & Family Services
Meg joined the Family YMCA in the winter of 2012. She has been working in the Y camp world since 1997 in New York and Connecticut. Meg is a graduate of Springfield College where she earned a degree in Human Services and Administration with a concentration in Y management. She greatly enjoys the outdoors and sharing that love with her campers and staff.
Shelly Goldman, Director, Healthy Living Programs
Shelly graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology and has had a lengthy career in Retail Management. After a serious back injury, she discovered the benefits of water exercise. Shelly became a Group Fitness Instructor and has attained several certifications for both Water Aerobics and Dryland. Shelly was the Water Exercise Coordinator from 2012-2015 at the Riverbrook YMCA. She has been an Instructor at the Westport Weston Family YMCA since 2003, and our Group Fitness Coordinator since April 2014. As Healthy Living Programs Director, Shelly is passionate about adding to our existing wellness programs, as well as bringing in new programs to service our membership.
Larry Hamilton, Jr. Director, Sports & Recreation
Larry joined the Family YMCA in February 2016. Larry was born and raised in Stratford, CT where he was a basketball and track captain at Stratford High School. At the University of Bridgeport, Larry earned a degree in Mass Communication with a minor in psychology and martial arts. Larry was the basketball captain at UB and also ran track. For the past 10 years, Larry has coached high school basketball and worked at the Cardinal Sheehan Center in Bridgeport, CT. He is currently an Assistant Basketball Coach at Weston High School.
Jay Jaronko, Senior Program Director/Interim Sports & Recreation Director
Jay joined the Family YMCA in February 2013 after spending the six years at the Southington-Cheshire Community YMCA. While in Southington, Jay served as Youth Programs Director and the Director of the YMCA Camp Sloper Outdoor Center Program. He is certified by Y-USA as a Team Leader and is active in the YMCA Movement in Connecticut through participation in several organizations, including the Association of YMCA Professionals and the Connecticut Program and Membership Network.
Ellen Johnston, Director, Competitive Swimming; Water Rat Head Coach
Ellen joined the Water Rat Swim Team in November 1986 as an assistant coach, working with swimmers at every level in the program. Prior to working in Westport, Ellen coached the Bulldog Swim Club in Bowie, Maryland. Ellen twice has been Connecticut Senior Coach of the Year and was nominated for the honor again in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Ellen is the 2015 recipient of the Larry Lyons YMCA National Coach of the Year Award.
Brian Marazzi, Director, Membership Engagement
Brian is a life-long YMCA participant and member. Growing up at the Valley YMCA in Ansonia, Connecticut, Brian learned the Y’s values and has made serving the YMCA his career. Over the past two decades, he has worked at the Valley, Stamford, Norwalk and the Hamden/North Haven YMCA. Brian began his professional Y career in 2002 and has managed several departments including Aquatics, Health & Wellness, Rec Sports and Membership and Marketing. Brian is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University with a degree in Recreation and Health & Human Services. He enjoys health and wellness, and outdoor recreational activities.
Joe Query, Director, Human Resources
Joe joined the Westport Weston Family YMCA in November 2005 as the Director of Human Resources, handling all aspects of payroll, benefits and human resources as well as assisting the CFO with other accounting functions. Joe held a similar position with Weston Woods Studios and his background is quite varied, having originated mortgages, owned a residential remodeling business, and spent several years in Washington working on Capitol Hill. He also volunteers as a Youth and Government advisor for the Y, passing on his passion for United States government and history.
Sally Silverstein, Director, Gymnastics
Sally has been with the Family YMCA since 1987. She holds a B.S. in Physical Education K-12 and a Minor in Music Education. Sally grew up as a competitive gymnast and swimmer and worked at the Westport Weston Family YMCA as a lifeguard, gymnastic and swim instructor, counselor and waterfront director. Prior to her Director life at the Y, she taught in the Norwalk Public School System. In addition, she is coach to the Y’s internationally ranked Exhibition Gymnastic Team and a regular guest choreographer, clinician, workshop speaker and Area Representative for USA Gymnastics. Sally is most proud of her family.
Scott VanKuilenburg, Assistant Director, Competitive Swimming
Scott joined the Water Rats as its Head Age Group Coach and Assistant Director of Competitive Swimming in the summer of 2015. Scott most recently coached with the Central Florida Marlins in Ocala, Florida. Scott’s background includes active duty with the Air Force reaching the rank of Sergeant. He then headed off to the University of Tennessee where he received a Bachelor of Science in Education/Exercise Physiology. Scott utilized his education degree as an elementary school physical education teacher. Still an active swimmer, the lure of the water called to him and has been on deck with all levels of swimming, from novice to NCAA qualifiers.
