Trevor Freeland WRAT Event

A CONVERSATION WITH TREVOR FREELAND, Saturday, September 12, 9:30 AM at LOGS

The Westport Y is pleased to host Trevor Freeland, a member of the first all-black swim team that, against all odds, reached the top rankings of youth swimming in the United States. Their remarkable story has been chronicled in the 2007 movie, Pride, and can be watched on YouTube and Amazon Prime. Click here to watch.
Trevor went on to a stellar college swimming career at the University of Virginia. He became the first black swimmer to compete at the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), helping his team win the first of 16 ACC team championships.
As one of the few black executives on Wall Street to run a major trading desk, Trevor’s success continues. His last 30 years have been committed to challenging and breaking down barriers. Through his journey, Trevor attributes his success in life to the work ethic and life skills — pride, determination, resilience — he learned from swimming.
Join us at the newly constructed Camp Mahakeno. Event is at the naturally shaded, outdoor amphitheater at the Westport Weston YMCA.

Seating is limited. RSVP today and be inspired!
