Be a part of the best summer ever at the YMCA. The Westport Weston Family YMCA offers an array of summer camps, classes, clinics and activities to keep you children active and engaged from the time school’s out until the new school year begins again all in a safe, supportive environment. Why not try a week of Gymnastics or Dance and end the day at our traditional outdoor Camp Mahackeno?

Encourage your child to explore things they may have never tried and see them gain confidence week after week.

Our trained staff are ready to design a summer experience your camper will always remember! Check out the overview of our Family YMCA’s summer programs and options below.

Camp Mahackeno

YMCA Camp Mahackeno is a traditional summer camp for children in grades K-10th.  Mahackeno runs at our outdoor center with its own pool, fields, pavilions and lodges. Campers for Mahackeno enjoy their entire day outside on the Mahackeno side of the property. With activities like swim lessons, canoeing, arts & crafts, nature, archery and low ropes, our campers make some wonderful summer memories.  *NEW This Summer*  Bouldering Wall, Two Giant Slides, New Archery Range, Brand New Pool and Locker Rooms and much more!

Camp runs in ONE week sessions to allow for easy summer scheduling! Drop off for camp is between 8:30 and 9:00 and pick up is between 3:15 and 4:00. Extended care is available (extra camp is extra fun). For more information click below:

Hafaday Swim Lesson Program

Designed for children ages 3 to 6 or grades PK – 1 and held each weekday from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, Hafaday is primarily a swim program, with both a lesson and a free swim period each day. It’s the best way to learn to swim. Arts and crafts, music, gym time, and games round out each morning of fun. For more information click below:

Dance Center

The Y’s Dance Center’s year revolves around two semesters, Fall and Winter/Spring, culminating in an end-of-year performance each June. But the fun doesn’t stop after the Spring Recital!

The Dance Center conducts a number of camps and clinics throughout the summer, including the popular Princess Dance Camp, which gives little dancers ages 3 and 4 the chance to leap and twirl through the basics of ballet and tap. There’s a new princess to follow each day, who helps the other teachers show these little princesses in pink the elements of ballet and tap warm-ups, taught in a developmentally appropriate way (as in, “stomp that spider!” to get those tap shoes clacking…)

Race 4 Chase Triathlon Program

The Race 4 Chase program is a youth triathlon program focused on providing kids ages 6 through 12 with a safe, healthy, non-competitive environment to discover the sport of triathlon. It brings together kids from all different backgrounds and educates them on how to adopt a healthy lifestyle, coaches them to develop a foundation of athletic skills, and inspires them to aim high in sports and in life. Through our collaboration with the Greater Waterbury YMCA and the Chase Michael Anthony Kowalski Foundation, the Westport Weston Family YMCA is proud to have been selected to offer this wonderful program to honor the life of Chase Michael Anthony Kowalski. Chase was a first-grader who lost his life at the Sandy Hook tragedy of 2012 and loved the sport of triathlon, winning the first youth triathlon he ever attempted.  To learn more please click below:
