RACE 4 CHASE Youth Triathlon Program
The Race 4 Chase program is a youth triathlon program focused on providing kids ages 6 through 12 with a safe, healthy, non-competitive environment to discover the sport of triathlon. It brings together kids from all different backgrounds and educates them on how to adopt a healthy lifestyle, coaches them to develop a foundation of athletic skills, and inspires them to aim high in sports and in life. Through our collaboration with the Greater Waterbury YMCA and the Chase Michael Anthony Kowalski Foundation, the Westport Weston Family YMCA is proud to have been selected to offer this wonderful program to honor the life of Chase Michael Anthony Kowalski. Chase was a first-grader who lost his life at the Sandy Hook tragedy of 2012 and loved the sport of triathlon, winning the first youth triathlon he ever attempted.
The Westport Weston Family YMCA Race 4 Chase Team practices daily at the YMCA from 8:30-12:00 using the indoor pool and Camp Mahackeno space to strengthen their skills in swimming, biking and running. Participants will also enjoy games to strengthen us as a team as well as learn about nutrition and taking care of our bodies.

2019 Race 4 Chase Application
Race 4 Chase is supported by the Chase Michael Anthony Kowalski Foundation. The program is free to participate in but we do ask that our athletes aim to reach a $150 fundraising goal for each child. Participants will be given ideas on how they can raise money and we ask that donations be submitted by July 5th. There is also a $10 membership fee that parent will pay to USAT when they register their child for their USA Triathlon membership.
