WATER RATS TEAMS RAISE $58k AT ST. VINCENT’S SWIM MARATHON
The Westport Weston Family YMCA proudly announces the outstanding achievements of its Water Rats Swim Team and Water Rat Master’s Swim Team in the 37th Annual St. Vincent’s Swim Across the Sound Marathon, held on August 3rd. This esteemed event, featuring solo swimmers and relay teams, covered 15.5 miles from Port Jefferson to Captain’s Cove in Bridgeport.
We extend a huge shoutout to our WRAT Masters teams, Fair Diego and The Pool Boys, whose incredible efforts at this year’s marathon have made a significant impact. Through their dedication and the unwavering support of our community, these teams raised an impressive $48,000, directly benefiting those in need.
We are also thrilled to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of our Water Rats teams who raised $10,194. Their dedication and the generosity of our community have not only achieved athletic excellence but have also provided vital support to those in need. Their contributions truly make a difference, and we are grateful for their hard work and commitment.
Special thanks to the Water Rat boat team, including Riley Twiss, Abby Ripka, Becca Kushel, Michael Ivanov, and Andrew Berkowitz, who played an essential role in the success of this year’s event. Their team spirit and determination were instrumental in achieving this milestone.
The Swim Across the Sound Marathon, renowned for its challenging course across Long Island Sound, serves as a testament to the endurance and commitment of its participants. This year’s event highlighted the spirit of giving and solidarity as competitors swam to support a cause close to many hearts.
