MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY
The YMCA is a cause-driven, volunteer-led organization. Our volunteers are shining examples of social responsibility and advocates for a better tomorrow who selflessly gift their time and talents to help advance the Y’s cause and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. We are grateful to our volunteers of all ages who help the WWFY achieve its mission to nurture and develop the potential of every child, promote healthy living and well-being, and assist neighbors in need. Our volunteers help strengthen our community and themselves through meaningful experiences and purposeful impact.
Please contact us for volunteer opportunities.
Through the robust offerings of our Ys, there are many opportunities for you to volunteer.
The generosity of others is at the core of our existence. When you volunteer at the Y, you actively bring about meaningful, enduring change in your community. As a volunteer, you’ll work with other caring, committed people who want to make a difference in your community. In addition to feeling great about your efforts, volunteers have the opportunity to:
- Experience personal growth
- Give back to the community through service to others
- Explore and discover a hidden passion
- Expand knowledge and skills through training
- Fulfill community service requirements for school credit
- Develop new relationships and make friends
- Gain community service experience to add to college, financial aid, scholarship, and employment applications
- Learn, grow, and HAVE FUN!
Volunteers are critical to carrying out our mission, so we ask our program volunteers to undergo an application and screening process similar to our paid staff members. This process ensures the best fit between the new volunteer and the program they are matched with while ensuring safety.
