The Westport Weston Family YMCA is excited to introduce its Car Donation Program in partnership with Advanced Remarketing Services (ARS), offering a simple and impactful way for community members to support the Y while parting with an unwanted vehicle. It’s fast, free, and helps strengthen communities, improve overall health, and empower young people into new leaders!
HOW IT WORKS
Donating is easy—just fill out a short online form with your vehicle details, and we’ll handle the rest. ARS schedules a free vehicle pickup, manages the sale, and issues a tax receipt to the donor. The YMCA then receives proceeds from the sale, helping to fund essential programs and services that benefit the local community.
Whether your vehicle is running or not, your donation helps the Y provide essential programs and services to individuals and families in our community. Whether it’s supporting youth development, promoting healthy living, or ensuring access to programs for all, your donation can make a difference through swim lessons for children, wellness programs for seniors, and resources for families in need.
3 EASY STEPS TO DONATE
1. Fill Out a Form
Provide basic details about your vehicle through our quick online form.
2. Schedule a Pick Up
You’ll be contacted by a local towing agent within 2-3 business days to schedule a pick up time that works best for you.
3. Receive a Tax Deduction & Support the Y
Once your vehicle is sold, ARS will send you a tax receipt, and proceeds will directly benefit the YMCA’s programs.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What types of vehicle donations are accepted?
The YMCA accepts almost all running and non-running cars and trucks. Other vehicles such as vans, motorcycles, snowmobiles, boats, RVs, trailers, planes, and heavy machinery are accepted on a case-by-case basis. If you have questions about a vehicle you’d like to donate, call us at 877-957-2277.
What if my vehicle isn’t running?
Your vehicle does not have to be running, but it must be whole and have four inflated tires so it can be moved by our towing operators. You will be asked to explain the condition of the vehicle. In rare cases, YMCA is unable to accept a vehicle donation when the costs of transport and processing fees exceed the auction value of the vehicle.
How long will it take to pick up my car?
Once you submit the donation form, a local towing agent will call you within 2-3 business days to schedule a pick up time that works best for you.
How do I sign my title?
Instructions on how to sign your title over to our processing agent, Advanced Remarketing Services, can be found in the confirmation email you received after submitting the donation form. You can also find state-specific title instructions by clicking here or by calling us at 877-957-2277.
How much money will the YMCA receive from my car donation?
Our authorized agent, Advanced Remarketing Services, returns on average more than 80% of the gross proceeds from the sale of your vehicle to your local Y.
Will I receive a tax receipt?
Yes! Within 30 days of the sale of your car, you’ll be emailed a tax receipt. If your car sells for over $500, you may deduct the full selling price of the car when itemizing taxes. If your car sells for less than $500, you can deduct $499 or your car’s fair market value, whichever is less. Please consult with your tax advisor on the best way to claim your car donation tax deduction.
