WWFY MOBILE APP FAQ

Please read through our frequently asked mobile app and class reservation questions!

WHERE DO I DOWNLOAD THE APP?

Search for the ‘Westport Weston Family YMCA’ in your app store or click below to download the app.

Please note: The new WWFY Mobile App icon is blue, with ‘The Y. For a better us.’ listed as the subtitle, and the Developer is Familyworks LLC. We discontinued the use of our old app, powered by MotionVibe, but is still currently searchable in the app store.

I DON’T HAVE A SMARTPHONE

No problem! You can still use the app via the web to sign up for classes:

The following login and class registration instructions apply.

WHAT’S MY LOGIN?

  • LOGIN: Enter the email and password associated with your Y member account. Your email must match what’s on your YMCA membership account to access the app.
  • PASSWORD: Your password is 10 characters or more, and includes at least one upper case letter, one lower case, and one special character.
  • IMPORTANT: If you have never set up your online member account, or your member account is not associated with a valid email address, you will need to update it before logging into the app or trying to reset a password. Click below to access the online member portal and/or search for your account.

If the system does not recognize your email, please use the ‘Use your Access ID and Birth Date’ feature to search for your account. Note: Your Access ID number is your Member Barcode. If you don’t know your Member Barcode number or still require assistance logging in, please contact Member Services, visit the Welcome Center or click below to contact our app support team.

HOW DO I CHANGE MY PASSWORD?

If you’re logged out of your WWFY Mobile App account but you have logged in previously, you can easily reset your password from the home screen.

  • Click “Forgot your password?” on the Login screen
  • Enter your email address on the “Forgot password” screen
  • SGA will send you an email with a reset link
  • Click the “Reset Password” link from your email and follow the instructions to change your password (Account passwords must be 10 characters or more, and includes at least one upper case letter, one lower case, and one special character).
  • Re-launch the app and use your new password

IMPORTANT: Your email and password is connected to your Y member account. If you reset the password on the app, you are also resetting your online account password.

WHERE IS MY MEMBERSHIP BARCODE?

  • Open the WWFY Mobile App
  • Click on the barcode icon (top right-hand corner)
  • Scroll left or right to navigate between other family member barcodes

If you’re trying to login to your online member account for the first time, and you don’t know your Member Barcode number, please contact Member Services or visit the Welcome Center.

HOW DO I CHANGE MY PROFILE PICTURE?

  • You can visit the Welcome Center upon your next visit for a new picture
    or
  • Login to your membership account online, here:
    https://ymcawestport.sgasoftware.com/Sales/Login
  • Click on “Account” (top right-hand corner)
  • Select “Info”
  • Click on your name (or the family member whose picture you’d like to update)
  • Click on “Upload Image”
  • Click on the “Choose an image” button
  • Then click “Save”

HOW DO I TURN ON APP NOTIFICATIONS?

The Westport Weston Family YMCA uses the WWFY Mobile App to send important notifications regarding emergencies, weather related closings, delayed openings, and/or other updates regarding our programs and facilities! However, notifications must be enabled on your device in order to receive these alerts.

By default, all notification types are selected within the app, but you can manage the types of notifications you receive.

  • Open the WWFY Mobile App
  • Click on your profile picture (bottom right-hand corner)
  • Click on the Settings icon (top right-hand corner)
  • Click on Notifications
  • Enable or disable the notification announcement types, that you would like to receive. e.g. Marketing, Facility Disruptions, Emergency, and Membership.

WHERE DO I VIEW NOTIFICATIONS IN THE APP?

Notifications will pop up on your home screen like any other apps on a smart phone. To view notifications while within the app, tap the bell icon at the top of the home screen.

I’M NOT RECEIVING NOTIFICATIONS!

Your smartphone device also controls your notification settings. If you are not receiving notifications, please check your device settings to ensure notifications are enabled for the WWFY Mobile App.

IPHONE:

  • Open the Settings app on your iOS device
  • Click on Notifications
  • Scroll down and click on WWFY
  • Tap the switch to ‘Allow Notifications’ to turn notifications on or off
  • Manage alert and screen preferences as desired

ANDROID:

  • Open the Settings app on your device
  • Click on Notifications
  • Click on See All
  • Scroll down to WWFY
  • Tap the switch to ‘Allow Notifications’ to turn notifications on or off
  • Manage alert and screen preferences as desired

Please note settings may vary by device. For specific instructions about your device, you may need to contact your service provider.

WHERE CAN I VIEW GROUP EXERCISE CLASS SCHEDULES?

  • Open the WWFY Mobile App
  • Click on the calendar icon (second icon on bottom navigation menu)
  • Click on Classes, Gym or Pool, or scroll further to narrow your search and view specific options by category
  • Within the schedules pages, you can scroll left and right to browse classes by dates, categories, location, or instructors using filters. Simply click once to add or change your preferences.
  • To view more information about a class, e.g. description, capacity, location or registration details, click on the class time where the > is for the class name you’re interested in.
  • You can also “favorite” any classes you’d like to receive notifications and messages regarding by clicking the heart button in the top right-hand corner of the class details page.

HOW DO I BOOK A GROUP EXERCISE CLASS RESERVATION?

Please note: Class reservations open one week in advance to the class start time. For example, you can register for our 9:15 AM Yoga class on Sunday, December 1, starting on Sunday, November 24, at 9:15 AM.

  • Once you’ve established your filters (above). Scroll through the list and click on the class time where the > is for the class name you’re interested in.
  • If a class requires a reservation (some offerings do not require reservations), a Register  button will appear on the bottom class description screen.
  • To reserve your spot click on the Register button next to your name.
  • If a class is fully booked, you can still register for the waitlist.
  • If you have multiple family members on your account, you may also make reservations on their behalf.
  • A registration confirmation screen will appear (listing you as registered) and you will also see the reservation on the home screen under the My Schedule section.
  • To exit the registration screen, click Close, then click on the X in the top right corner (it may sometimes be hard to see – we’re updating that!)

HOW DO I CONFIRM MY CLASS RESERVATION ON THE APP?

You can view all upcoming, favorited and past class reservations on the app home screen under the My Schedule section.

  • Click on See All > for more information.

In addition, you will receive a class reminder notification via the app 15-minutes prior to class start time, for any class you are registered in.

HOW DO I CANCEL MY CLASS RESERVATION ON THE APP?

To cancel any upcoming class reservations…

  • Open the WWFY Mobile App
  • Navigate to the Home Screen and scroll down to the My Schedule section
  • Click on See All >
  • Click on the class name and date/time of the reservation you’d like to cancel
  • Click on View Registration
  • Select “Can’t Go” to cancel
  • Click Close

IS THERE A PLACE WHERE I CAN SEE ALL THE CLASSES I SIGNED UP FOR ON THE APP?

Yes! You can view all upcoming, favorited and past class reservations under the My Schedule section.

If you have active class reservations…

  • Open the WWFY Mobile App
  • Navigate to the My Schedule section on the home screen
  • Click on See All > for more information
  • You can then navigate through your upcoming, favorited classes or past reservations list

If you don’t have any active class reservations…

  • Open the WWFY Mobile App
  • Click on your profile picture (bottom right-hand corner)
  • Click on the Settings icon (top right-hand corner)
  • Click on My Schedule
  • You can then navigate through your favorited classes or past reservations list

WHERE CAN I FIND FACILITY HOURS & CONTACT INFO IN THE APP?

  • Open the WWFY Mobile App
  • Navigate to the home screen
  • Click on the YMCA logo in the top left-hand corner
  • Scroll to view hours, contact information and more

I’M NOT A WWFY MEMBER, CAN I STILL USE THE APP?

Whether you’re a member, guest, staff, or volunteer, the new WWFY app is here to elevate your Y experience! Non-members can use our app, but you are required to create an online account as a Community Member. If you have never set up your online WWFY account, you will need to do so before logging into the app or trying to reset a password. Click below to access the online member portal and create a new account.
