7th GRADE INITIATIVE PROGRAM

A FREE MEMBERSHIP & SO MUCH MORE!
Here at the Westport Weston Family YMCA, we are committed to supporting teens as they transition from childhood into adolescence. This program is specifically designed to give 7th graders an environment where they can develop healthy habits, establish good relationships with peers, caring adults as well as with themselves. Students will get to experience a variety of fitness and recreational activities allowing them to discover what excites them.

Registration is simple! Bring your school ID, report card, or other proof of grade level and a parent or guardian to our front desk. After parents/guardians’ complete membership paperwork, students will be required to complete enrollment and fitness orientation to activate membership.

Enrollment for this program begins July 1, 2024. Students will have access to our Y until June 30, 2025. Space is limited, sign up early to reserve your place!

Orientation to Cardio, Strength & Fitness Equipment
Use of Fitness Center (upon completion of required fitness equipment orientation)
Teen classes at reduced cost
Use of pool and gymnasium

GOALS OF THE PROGRAM

Provide a safe and secure place for teens to connect with peers and adults
Develop and practice core values
Understand the importance of physical and mental health
Embrace exercise and movements that they enjoy

At this age, kids are discovering who they are, and we want to ensure that they’re set up for success!

The following programs are exclusive to our 7th Grade Initiative Program students. Financial assistance is available.

7TH GRADE FIT

This youth specific fitness class combines traditional strength training exercises with sport specific exercises designed to challenge balance, strength and agility.

TEEN NIGHTS
Our monthly Teen Nights offer a wide array of activities for 7th Graders which include games, activities, food, and more!
