7th GRADE INITIATIVE
A FREE MEMBERSHIP & SO MUCH MORE!
Here at the Westport Weston Family YMCA, we are committed to supporting teens as they transition from childhood into adolescence. This program is specifically designed to give 7th graders an environment where they can develop healthy relationships with peers, caring adults as well as with themselves. Students will get to experience a variety of fitness and recreational activities allowing them to discover what excites them.
JOIN US!
Registration is simple! Bring your school ID, report card, or other proof of grade level and a parent or guardian to our front desk. After parents/guardians’ complete membership paperwork, students will be required to complete enrollment and fitness orientation to activate membership.
Enrollment for this program begins July 1, 2023. Students will have access to our Y until August 31, 2024.
GOALS OF THE PROGRAM
- Provide a safe and secure place for teens to connect with peers and adults
- Develop and practice core values
- Understand the importance of physical and mental health
- Embrace exercise and movements that they enjoy
MEMBERSHIP INCLUDES
- Teen cardio, strength & fitness orientation
- Use of fitness center (upon completion of required orientation)
- Teen classes
- Use of pool and gymnasium
- Monthly events
- Reduced program costs
- Volunteering activities
At this age, kids are discovering who they are, and we want to ensure that they’re set up for success!
