This past weekend 23 Senior swimmers attended the 2020 Connecticut Senior Short Course Championships at Wesleyan University. The swimmers had an excellent meet.
The Senior Women came in third overall at the meet and Parker Lenoce was the top Individual and Distance High Point Scorer for the Men. Emmett Adams was the Individual High Point Runner Up. Parker and Emmett were the only boys eligible to score points for the Water Rat boys due to high school restrictions and between the two the Men’s Team placed 8th. Overall the Combined Men’s and Women’s teams placed 5th.
Parker broke seven 13/14 boys team records at the meet as well. Parker broke his own record in the 200 Free in a time of 1:44.66, the 500 Free in a time of 4:36.78, the 1000 Free in a time of 9:33.50, in the 1650 Free in a time of 15:54.92, and in the 400 IM in at ime of 4:06.82. Parker also broke Ed Stolarski’s 200 Back record in a time of 1:54.17 and Bryce Keblish’s 100 Fly record in a time of 52.25.
Parker’s 1650 swim not only broke the team record, but also broke CT Swimming’s oldest record in the Boys 13-14 age group. The old CT Record was set in 1974 by Bobby Hackett who won the Silver Medal in the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games in the 1500 Freestyle.
Congratulations to all the Senior swimmers who attended the meet and good luck to all the swimmers swimming this coming weekend at Regional Championships.
