101 YEARS OF MAKING AN IMPACT

Since 1923 the Westport Weston Family YMCA has worked to support our whole community. Your sponsorship funds financial assistance to under-resourced families and those in need and makes our Y welcoming and inclusive for all.

YOUR SUPPORT HELPS:

• Provide financial assistance for memberships and program fees to local families and individuals in need
• Offer free lifesaving programs to the community including the YMCA LiveStrong Program, Parkinson’s Mind and Body Programming, and so much more.
• Provide water safety programs for children in and around the community
• Bring happiness to thousands of families who benefit from our programs and services
• Fulfill the YMCA’s mission of enriching the community by developing and nurturing youth, promoting healthy living for all and fostering social responsibility

OUR MISSION IN ACTION

In 2023, the WWFY made the following impact in our local community:

• $485,000 was given out in to people in our community to be members and participate in programs.
• 30 children out of the 728 children that attended YMCA Camp Mahackeno were given Camperships totaling $25,082.
• The Y provided 604 life-saving swim lessons.
• When the facility was closed from March 2020 through June 2020, Y staff called over 800 senior members to check in on them.
• 217 Children had a safe place to go after school and the Y provided 18 families financial assistance totaling $26,244.
• Bedford Family Social Responsibility Fund Grants Awarded: $315,000
  In 2015, the YMCA Board of Trustees established the Bedford Family Social Responsibility Fund (the “Fund”) to give back to the community and carry forward the legacy of Ruth Bedford. The purpose of the Fund is to provide grants to organizations that focus on closing the “achievement gap” in education.

WWFY ANNUAL CAMPAIGN, INVESTING IN YOUR COMMUNITY

Donations to the Westport Weston Family YMCA Annual Campaign provide financial assistance for kids and families who need us most. With the generosity of our members, we transform lives for the better by nurturing the potential and well-being of our children, promoting healthy living among all, and strengthening a sense of caring and social community. When you give to our Annual Campaign, your gift will have a meaningful impact right here in our neighborhood.

HOW YOUR GIFT MAKES A DIFFERENCE
$100 – provides three months of financial support for a youth membership

$315 – provides one youth session to a child with special needs

$700 – provides a child with 2 weeks of after school care

$1,000 – provides a senior couple on a fixed income a full year of membership

$3,000 – covers the cost of six weeks of camp for one child

$6,000 – provides 3 individuals with a year of Parkinson’s Body and Mind classes
