Inclement Weather Communication – Family YMCA

With the winter months approaching, the Family YMCA has put in place a communication plan for days involving inclement weather. In the event of inclement weather, please check the following locations for changes to our facility and program schedules:

CHECK THE RED BANNER ON OUR WEBSITE – The first and best place to look is westporty.org. There will be a red banner across the top of every page with the important info. If there is no red banner….there are no changes.

SOCIAL MEDIA UPDATES – Facebook is the next best place to look for up-to-the-minute information. Search “Westport Weston Family YMCA” and “Like” us for easy access.

OUTGOING VOICE MESSAGE – Call 203-226-8981. If we are open, and YMCA staff person will answer your questions. If we are closed, the outgoing message will be updated with the correct information.

INCLEMENT WEATHER PROGRAM MAKE-UPS – We will strive to offer make-up lessons for every class that is cancelled due to inclement weather. Each program area will make the decision on when to offer make-up classes individually, based on availability of the space and the size of the group. Program Directors will include make-up information, if known, when they notify you that your program has been cancelled. If you have questions, please call the Family YMCA at 203-226-8981 and ask for your Program Director.
