Westport Weston Family YMCA Masters Swimmers Shine at 2024 YMCA Nationals
The 2024 YMCA Masters National Championship in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was a testament to the talent and dedication of our Masters swimmers from the Westport Weston Family YMCA. From May 9th to 12th, our adult swimmers aged 18 and above showcased their prowess in the water, leaving an indelible mark on the national stage.
With 58 swimmers representing WWFY, the championship was marked by exceptional performances. Seven athletes shattered National Meet Records, while four relay teams showcased the power of teamwork and camaraderie. These achievements underscored the collective strength of our program and the dedication of our swimmers.
The results spoke volumes about the caliber of talent within our Masters program. The women’s team secured a resounding victory, while the men’s team displayed exceptional prowess with a commendable third-place finish. The combined efforts of our swimmers clinched the coveted first-place finish overall for the second consecutive year.
These remarkable achievements are a testament to the hard work, perseverance, and passion exhibited by our swimmers, along with the unwavering support from our coaches, staff, and the entire Westport Weston Family YMCA community. Beyond the records, it is the spirit of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and personal growth that defines our Masters program.
