Update February 28, 2022: The CDC no longer requires the use of masks on public and private school transportation vehicles. This means our students will not be required to wear masks on our buses as of today.

Dear Y Member and Friends,

Based on the most recent guidance from state and local government and health authorities, the Westport Weston Family YMCA will become a mask optional facility, effective February 28, 2022. Members, staff, and participants in all our programs, including afterschool childcare, gymnastics, swim team, dance, swim lessons, basketball, group fitness classes, adult basketball and volleyball and more may choose whether or not to wear masks while in our facility.

Your health and safety continues to be of the utmost importance and we will continue to ensure we keep our YMCA facility clean and sanitized. Additionally, as we begin the transition to a post-pandemic environment, we ask that each member, community member, and staff be respectful of others’ individual choice to mask or not. Masks will continue to be required on afterschool childcare buses which fall within federal jurisdiction and which still require masks.

We eagerly await a return to normalcy and to serving you, your family, and our community in the best way possible as we nurture the potential of youth, motivate healthy living and lifestyles, and inspire care for and commitment to those in need. We will keep you posted should new guidance be issued or should there be updates to policy.

If you have questions or concerns, please do let me know. Thank you for sticking with us over the past two years. We could not have done it without you!

With gratitude,
Anjali McCormick
