CELEBRATE MLK DAY AT THE WWFY WITH OUR “I HAVE A DREAM WALL’ WORKSHOP

This Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Westport Weston Family YMCA invites you to honor Dr. King’s legacy with a special community workshop designed to inspire creativity and reflection. Join us in celebrating the timeless themes of equality, positive change, and personal aspirations through our “I Have a Dream Wall” activity.

On Monday, January 20, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM, the Bedford Family Center lobby will transform into a vibrant hub of creativity and inspiration. This free event welcomes everyone—members and non-members alike—to come together and reflect on the powerful legacy of Dr. King. Kids and families can immerse themselves in hands-on activities, crafting artwork and writing heartfelt messages inspired by the iconic “I Have a Dream” speech. These creations will become part of our collaborative “I Have a Dream Wall,” a beautiful display of dreams and hopes shared by our community.

The workshop also offers a meaningful opportunity for children in our Kids Camp programming to explore Dr. King’s vision in an engaging and fun way. It’s a chance for everyone to dream big, foster conversations about equality and justice, and celebrate the power of positive change.

No registration is needed for this drop-in event—just stop by the YMCA and join us in honoring Dr. King’s enduring message. Whether you’re crafting with your kids, sharing your dreams, or simply soaking in the inspiration, this workshop is a wonderful way to connect with your community and celebrate the values that Dr. King championed. We can’t wait to see you there!
