Group Fitness classes are a valuable part of your membership at the Westport Weston Family YMCA. We offer guidance from certified instructors in a variety of physical modalities. Whether you are with us in-person at the Y or want to participate virtually, we’ve got something for you! At the Westport Weston Family YMCA you can participate in classes that improve your endurance, classes that can help you stretch deeper and align your body properly, as well as classes that are fun and fit a variety of ability levels, or enjoy a variety of classes via our virtual platform, Y Wellness 24/7!
ESSENTRICS
Dynamically stretch and strengthen every muscle to reshape and re-balance the body. With no-impact, this workout will increase your mobility while keeping your joints healthy & pain free.
26 + 2 YOGA
26+2 Yoga is comprised of 26 poses and 2 breathing exercises. Most positions occur twice and usually take 6-60 seconds, based upon the position.
BOLLYX
A Bollywood-inspired dance-fitness program that combines choreography with the hottest music from around the world. This 45-minute cardio workout cycles between higher and lower intensity dance sequences to get you moving, sweating, and smiling.
CYCLE PLUS
50-minute cycle incorporating beat-based riding and interval training, plus 10 minutes of arm toning, using light weights on the bike.
BARRE EXPRESS
This 45-minute total body workout consists of strength building, stretching, and postural alignment exercises. The Barre Express class follows the same format as the traditional Barre class, but the pace is faster.
PILATES BARRE
A core-fusion style class that combines resistance training with elements of Pilates, Ballet, Barre, and Yoga. Light weights & other props will be included to increase the intensity and heart rate.
PILARES FUSION
A creative Pilates class that combines classic and modern movement patterns. Focus on your core and posterior muscle groups, while improving flexibility through a combination of exercise sequences, using a variety of props.
