Winning competitive teen swimmers at YMCA pool smiling

Congratulations to all our WRAT swimmers who competed in the 2022 CT State Age Group Championships with the girls and boys combined team in first place. Ella Gussen broke WWFY’s Lauren Evanosky’s 21-year-old records in the 200M IM in a time of 2:27.69 and in the 200M Backstroke in a time of 2:27.24.  Ella also broke her own record in the 100M Backstroke in a time of 1:08.17.  Audrey Gil broke a longstanding record as well, breaking Sarah Grinalds’ 8-year-old record in the 100M Fly in a time of 1:04.91.  Other highlights of our long course championships are Riley Twiss’ 3rd place ranking in the the high point scoring for individual events and his 2nd place ranking in the high point scoring for individual distance events at Senior Championships.
