Wednesday, November 4, will be the most significant day of the project as large cranes will be on-site to lift the new HVAC units onto the roof. To ensure the safety of our members, staff, and visitors, temporary changes to building access and parking will be in effect for this day only.

The YMCA’s main front entrance and roundabout will be completely closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic on November 4. All members and visitors must enter and exit through the rear Multi-Purpose Room entrance, where Membership staff will be available to assist with check-in.

To help accommodate members during this temporary change:

• Alternate Entrance: All members and visitors must use the Multi-purpose Room entrance. The main front entrance will not be accessible.
• Parking: The last row of parking spaces will be reserved for handicap and senior parking.
• Golf Cart Assistance: Golf cart shuttles will be available for members who need assistance getting to the Multi-purpose Room entrance.
• Request a Pickup: If you need golf cart transportation, please call the YMCA Front Desk (203-226-8981) from your vehicle. A staff member will arrange to pick you up at your car and transport you to the Multi-purpose Room entrance.

Temporary HVAC Disruptions & Amenity Closures

As part of the rooftop HVAC replacement, heating, cooling, and ventilation will be temporarily unavailable in certain areas of the facility while the existing units are disconnected.

Please be aware of the following temporary conditions:

• Wellness Center & Studio C: These spaces will be affected by the HVAC replacement and may experience temperature changes throughout the week.
• Locker Rooms: Ventilation will be limited, and members may notice changes in temperature and humidity. Locker rooms and showers will remain accessible.
• Temperature & Humidity: Depending on outdoor weather conditions, affected areas may feel warmer, cooler, or more humid than usual.
• Saunas & Steam Rooms: These amenities will be temporarily closed from November 2–6 due to limited ventilation in the locker rooms.

We anticipate completing the HVAC replacement no later than Friday, November 6, with normal heating, cooling, and ventilation restored once the work is complete.
