Our AquaFit group is leading a celebration of the VFW and all they do, for the whole month of May. Here are ways you can join and support the VFW and other Verteran’s charities in the month of May!
A Month of Giving
Let’s make this month matter to veterans.
We are collecting pairs of new white socks for the Connecticut Veterans Administration Job & Service Fair called Stand Down. Many of these veterans are experiencing homelessness.
Look for the collection box in our lobby!

Meet 11am at VFW, 465 Riverside Avenue, Westport, for trash pickup along Riverside Avenue and Saugatuck River! Tours of VFW and marina after the pick-up.

Memorial Day
Parade through downtown Westport 9-10am; 10-11am Ceremony on Town Green across from Town Hall; 11:30am-1:30pm Community Open House Complimentary Lunch at VFW. Meet our veterans and auxiliary members!
Supporting Our Local Veterans
This year, we are proud to support both the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Westport’s American Legion Post 63 was chartered in 1919, and its Auxiliary for volunteers was founded in 2024.
Westport VFW Post 399 is celebrating 106 years in April 2026, and its Auxiliary is celebrating 62 years.
We share the VFW building and coordinate activities together to support our veterans.
