HEALTHY LIVING PROGRAMS
We understand that not all fitness goals are made equally, and that there are many in search of targeted training and programming to meet their specific needs. To that end, the Westport Weston Family YMCA offers the following programs to meet the needs of our diverse communities.
PARKINSON’S BODY & MIND
Research shows that consistent exercise benefits people with Parkinson?s Disease, helping to protect certain areas of the brain affected by the disease. Exercises that focus on balance, coordination, and agility, help those affected by Parkinson’s to maintain higher levels of function and greater quality of life.
This is a 12-week exercise program for cancer survivors with two 75-90-minute sessions per week. We will be implementing this program and will have more information on our website shortly.
Nutritional Counseling available in-person or virtually with Judy Samuels, Precision Nutrition Certified Coach and NASM Certified Personal Trainer. Judy will help you implement healthier eating habits in order to support your goals including weight management or managing conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Get ready for science based Nutritional Coaching and tips to help you make positive lifestyle changes.
YOUTH FITNESS PROGRAMS
Teach your child healthy exercise habits by enrolling in one of the programs below:
Youth Fitness Conditioning
Small group training for ages 10 to 14, led by one of our Certified Personal Trainers. Start lifelong healthy habits by learning how to use the Wellness Center equipment safely and effectively while engaging in a variety of cardio, strength, agility, and flexibility exercises.
Youth Yoga (ages 7+)
Yoga is an excellent way to foster a sense of calm and balance to your child’s mind and body. Youth Yoga is designed for ages seven and up.
